Revo Oahu needs your help. They sent me this to let ya'll know what's up:
"Ever wanted to be a part of a movement, a cause, a REVOlution greater than yourself, but didn't know where to start? We all want to change this world somehow but many of us just don't know where to begin. But REVO helps give every person the opportunity to make this world a better place. It is a movement we can all grab onto.
What started as a small benefit show in Hilo, Hawai’i in 2007, has now grown into a global movement.
People all over the U.S. have started their own REVOs in states such as California, Louisiana, Tennessee, and New York, as well as in Canada and Guam. They’re hosting art shows and raising awareness of both global and domestic issues. And now, REVO has gone full circle and is hosting another event in Hawai'i, where it all began.
On November 14, REVO Oahu partners up with Invisible Children for a benefit artshow and film screening for "The Rescue."
Invisible Children's mission for "The Rescue" began in 2003 when three young filmmakers, Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole, traveled to Africa for an adventure. But little did they know, what was about to come, would change their lives forever. They witnessed a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims. Thousands of young children have been abducted and trained to become child soldiers.
Their abductor: JOSEPH KONY, leader of the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army), who also proclaims to be a "spokes person" of God and a medium of the Holy Spirit.
The LRA is a rebellious military group that stands strongly against the Ugandan government and have participated in tragic amounts murders, abductions, mutilations, and sexual enslavement of women and children. They have abducted over 30,000 children and have killed over 1.6 million people since 1987.
These children need to be saved. RESCUED."
