Kaiwi Berry's insight from the last big swell at Waimea: 12/5/09

----aloha,

Here are some photos from the last big swell at waimea, 12-5-09.
The waves were fun, not too crowded. The next day me and a couple friends drove our jet skis from Kaneohe to Kahului harbor Maui. It took us about 6 hours, about 100 miles, maybe 98. We were hired by red bull to do water patrol at jaws for the team.

12-7-09:
9 am we showed up at the circus, about 40 teams towing, boats in the channel, photographers all over, 3 helicopters, hundreds of people on the cliffs. I was on the sled and my friend was driving the ski. A surfer went over the falls on about a 15 footer, his partner went to pick him up, they got caught by a wave, flipped their ski and it was headed for the rocks. They needed help, so we went in to pick them up. my partner grabbed the surfer, passed him to me on the sled and somehow he pulled the kill-switch which shut the jetski off. The next wave hit us, flipped the jetski and sent us to the rocks. I could still see the ski and decided to swim over to it, taking a few whitewaters on the head. By the time I got close enough, the ski was already on the rocks and completely totalled. I ended up climbing the rocks, walked around the bay, then had to swim back out into the channel with no fins then eventually got picked up by another ski. =( (Attached are 2 photos)
12-8-09:
Finally caught a few waves and still have no photos to show for it! Haha!

Kory Kinder surfs better than you...

BUT HE WOULD NEVER BRAG, BECAUSE HE'S ONE OF THE NICEST HOMIES AROUND NORTH COUNTY, SD!

He's down with Kreed! We love seeing the "K" logo on your SUPER Brand SURFBOARDS, Kory!

I ran into him today while strolling down the mellow streets of Encinitas and he gave me these pics to remind me that he's likes to surf;)
He rides for Hansen Surf Shop, Super Brand Surfboards and Ambiguous Clothing.

If you see him around town, stop him and say hello...he'll wave back.

Dang...who says Kory needs to have his fins IN the water?

I don't even know what to say. I'll just clap. ----- I'm clapping, now.

REVO Oahu Benefit Show with Invisible Children on 11.14.09

Revo Oahu needs your help. They sent me this to let ya'll know what's up:

"Ever wanted to be a part of a movement, a cause, a REVOlution greater than yourself, but didn't know where to start? We all want to change this world somehow but many of us just don't know where to begin. But REVO helps give every person the opportunity to make this world a better place. It is a movement we can all grab onto.

What started as a small benefit show in Hilo, Hawai’i in 2007, has now grown into a global movement.

People all over the U.S. have started their own REVOs in states such as California, Louisiana, Tennessee, and New York, as well as in Canada and Guam. They’re hosting art shows and raising awareness of both global and domestic issues. And now, REVO has gone full circle and is hosting another event in Hawai'i, where it all began.

On November 14, REVO Oahu partners up with Invisible Children for a benefit artshow and film screening for "The Rescue."

Invisible Children's mission for "The Rescue" began in 2003 when three young filmmakers, Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole, traveled to Africa for an adventure. But little did they know, what was about to come, would change their lives forever. They witnessed a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims. Thousands of young children have been abducted and trained to become child soldiers.

Their abductor: JOSEPH KONY, leader of the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army), who also proclaims to be a "spokes person" of God and a medium of the Holy Spirit.

The LRA is a rebellious military group that stands strongly against the Ugandan government and have participated in tragic amounts murders, abductions, mutilations, and sexual enslavement of women and children. They have abducted over 30,000 children and have killed over 1.6 million people since 1987.

These children need to be saved. RESCUED."

Cruising with Fitzy!

Today I got to roll to a few accounts that carry Kreed and Crush Eyewear with our LA and partial-Orange County sales rep, Mark Fitzgerald. It was a fun day just catching up, visiting some new spots and constantly scheming up side projects that we could do if we had infinitely deep pockets:)

Check it out...I took lots of pics. I ain't no pro snappy photog; I just wanted to document it for fun.

---- Vincent.

The game plan was to meet Fitzy at 7:45am at his spot in Costa Mesa and hit the road.
Coffee is HIS friend. NOT mine.

Carpool is rad.

When we exited the 5, this proud AMERICAN had these kind of decals ALL OVER his Chevy truck. Wow. I was surprised that he didn't have a Confederate flag strapped to his antenna. He did have an American flag though. He drove away before I could snap a photo of it.

First stop BIOLA UNIVERSITY in La Mirada.

Welcome to the BIOLA Bookstore...

The Kreed reps are awesome at servicing the racks, filling in product and cleaning it up to make it look all shiny!

She was working the front cashwrap and even SHE was interested in the sunnys.

Go RED EAGLES!!!

Check out this cool piece of school pride Stephanie from the bookstore gave me!
This is a bobblehead of the school's former president: Dr. Clyde Cook. (RIP) One of the raddest things I've gotten from college. THANKS LILIA AND THE CREW AT BIOLA!!!

Back on the road on the way to LA...we were wondering how those dudes are able to bomb their graffiti on underpasses and on the freeway signs...Crazy.

What's up LA Times...

USC Main Campus...Cardinal and Gold!

This place was HUUUUUUGE. 4 Stories tall. Everything you need. Seriously.

Off to the coast! Santa Monica, man.

Fitzy & Amanda. She was running that spot. Sorry for the blurry pic. I must have been distracted by the shiny swimwear.

Final stop of the day: Santa Monica Surf Shop at 2934 Wilshire Blvd.

Some of the coolest, simplest shirts I've seen in awhile from a surf shop. I'd wear it for sure!

It was a day full of running around. That's how we do it!
